Annecy is one of Haute-Savoie’s main places of interest. The town boasts a fabulous cultural heritage, with some twenty buildings listed as historic monuments. The château (which houses the regional observatory of Alpine lakes), the Palais de l’Isle and the Manoir de Novel are among the remains of medieval times. As you stroll through Annecy’s old town for a shopping spree or two, you’ll also spot some samples of the city’s religious heritage, such as the Basilique de la Visitation, the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre and the Eglise Saint-François-de-Sales. During your camping holiday in Annecy, lose yourself in the traboules, relax on the Marquisats beach and contemplate the lake from the Pont des Amours or the Pâquier. Annecy is also home to a number of outstanding museums, including the Musée Salésien and the Musée du Film d’Animation.
