The most beautiful walks near Annecy

Mont Veyrier loop

One of the most popular hikes from Annecy, it takes you up to a magnificent balcony overlooking Lake Annecy after a forest climb, before continuing on a ridge path. The Aravis mountain range and the Mont Blanc massif are also visible.

Talloires waterfall loop

From the commune of Talloires, on the western shore of Lake Annecy, you’ll hike through the forest to the cascade d’Angon, a popular spot for canyoning enthusiasts. You’ll see some superb waterfalls, and the more adventurous can take a refreshing dip in the natural pools. If the view is clear, you’ll be able to see La Tournette and the Dents de Lanfont.

Tour du Roc de Chère

The starting point for this beautiful hike is the Talloires golf course parking lot. Follow the “Tour du Roc” sign and enter the undergrowth. You’ll enjoy the coolness as you climb. You’ll get your first good views of Annecy and Menthon-Saint-Bernard, then a little higher up, from the belvedere, of Talloires and the towns on the other side of the lake (Duingt, Doussard).

Promenade du Thiou

This is a very pleasant walk, with virtually no change in altitude, right in the heart of Annecy. Perfectly suited to all walkers, it’s ideal for digestion after a good family lunch. Along the Thiou, you’ll spot ducks and beautiful buildings. If you want to combine walking and relaxation without too much effort, this is the walk for you.

La Tournette

If you’re a fan of trekking, why not take on La Tournette? Nicknamed the “armchair”, it is the highest peak on Lake Annecy. This sporty hike starts at the Chalets de l’Aulp in Talloires-Montmin. There are stony paths, stretches of grass, ibex and spectacular views. And, once at the top, a feeling of accomplishment and of being alone in the world.
