Camping Doussard

From quiet waterside roads to winding roads with panoramic lake and mountain views, Savoie and Haute-Savoie offer a multitude of short, medium and long-distance itineraries. Put on your helmet and get ready for plenty of rides during your stay at camping lac d’Annecy, because you’ll soon realize that here, the journey is far more important than the destination.

Stroll from Lake Annecy to Lac du Bourget

This route, which links Lake Annecy and Lake Bourget via Rumilly, is very popular in the summer months, offering you the chance to swim in France’s two largest natural lakes at the start and finish. The ride is short (around 190 km) but very interesting. You’ll climb some very fine passes (Col du Chat, Col du Sapenay, Col de La Forclaz), and descend charming winding roads with superb views over alpine landscapes, particularly as you approach the Aravis and Bauges massifs. If you have time to stroll along the way, stop in Aix-les-Bains to cool your engine and admire the beautiful villas built on the heights overlooking Lac du Bourget.

Stroll from Annecy to Thonon via the Bauges, the Vanoise and Megève

If you enjoy riding your motorcycle for hours on end over long distances, this wonderful route is definitely for you. A roadtrip of 510 km and almost 12 hours of driving, with a succession of breathtaking landscapes, passes and switchbacks. From Annecy, take the D1508 along the western shore of the lake to Sévrier, then the D912 to Saint-Eustache. Pass through La Chapelle-Saint-Maurice, Leschaux, Ecole and Châteauneuf to Albertville. After the Bauges massif, you’ll arrive at the gateway to the Vanoise National Park (Salin-les-Thermes, Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Beaufort), where you can pitch your tent and take a break from camping in Savoie before hitting the road again. You’ll then climb back up to Flumet and Megève, surrounded by majestic alpine massifs. Your itinerary continues via Col des Aravis (La Clusaz), Le Grand-Bornand, Cluses, Samoëns, Morzine, Montriond and La Vernaz. Once you’ve arrived in Thonon-les-Bains, let go of your handlebars, take off your helmet and sit on the terrace to enjoy the privileged view of Lake Geneva.
