At the foot of Mount Veyrier, on the eastern shore of Lake Annecy, Veyrier-du-Lac is a town of 2,300 inhabitants that belongs to the canton of Annecy-le-Vieux. It boasts a château built in the 16th century that is now a listed historical monument (Château de Fésigny) and a church dating back to the 19th century (Saint-Maurice Church). As you stroll along the heights, on the ridges of Mount Veyrier and Mount Baron, you will spy a number of belvederes. During the high season, you’ll be able to enjoy stretching out for a while on the Plage de la Brune beach to recover from your hike. This gorgeous grassy beach has earned the Blue Flag label and is monitored by lifeguards in July and August. Your kids will be able to go for a swim in the lake in complete safety. Want to find the best views of Lake Annecy? Set off to conquer the Sauts Pass or the Contrebandiers Pass on foot, by bicycle or by car.
